"She will be attending the Association of Health Commissioners, the AOHC Spring Conference in Columbus, Ohio from the 28th to the 29th of this month," the chair said during the meeting.
Missy Lee (S5), who participated in the discussion, said the commissioner typically attends that conference annually and added that staff had received candidate materials: "Jackie's spread report is in the packet. The only thing I just want to add, we received all the information for the 3 interviewees... So Jackie will look at those when she gets back to you. So we all target for the May 1 interview," Missy Lee said.
The board also reviewed the personnel process for the health commissioner search. The chair said the personnel committee reviewed applicant videos, narrowed the pool to three finalists, and scheduled full-day, in-person interviews for May 1. The chair said the board hopes to select a candidate at that time and announce it at the May meeting. If chosen, the new hire could begin as early as July 1 to overlap with Jackie until her planned retirement in August.
