Board approves rezoning in Wellton to allow RV dwelling on 1.04-acre parcel

The Yuma County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Minor Amendment Case No. 25-08 and Rezoning Case No. 25-20 March 2, allowing a 1.04-acre parcel in the Avenue 31 E/County 12th Street area of Wellton to be rezoned from Rural Area (RA-40) to Recreational Vehicle Subdivision (RVS) so an RV may be placed and used as a dwelling.
Senior Planner Javier Barraza presented the staff recommendation and said the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended approval. The applicant was present and there were no public comments during the hearing. The board approved the minor amendment and rezoning on 5-0 votes; conditions include recording an avigation disclosure statement, an infrastructure disclosure statement and an agriculture disclosure statement within 60 days and finalizing required permits prior to development or within five years, whichever occurs first.
The approvals allow the property owner to proceed with permit applications under the RVS district and establish a clear schedule for required filings before development.
