The Little Falls City Council accepted a feasibility report for Public Improvement 416—pavement rehabilitation of 1st Avenue Southeast from Wood Street to 4th Street—and set a public hearing for Feb. 17.
City staff described the work as pavement removal and replacement, sidewalk and ADA improvements, minor utility work including a water-main reconstruction and one sanitary casting. The surfacing portion was listed at $626,833; overall, staff presented a city share of about $990,000 with approximately $127,000 assessed to property owners (about a 20% assessment rate), and a state aid contribution of about $727,350. Staff said the remaining local funds (roughly $141,827) could be covered by the street improvement fund to avoid a levy impact.
Council discussed assessment counts and mapping; staff said abutting properties and some city-owned lots will be assessed and confirmed a public hearing notice will be sent to property owners. Council accepted the report and called the public hearing as recommended.
