Board handles routine business: minutes approved, transfer sites, road work and fireworks request discussed

The Lake County Board of Commissioners spent part of the March 19, 2025 session on routine administrative items, approving minutes, receiving department updates and reviewing outside funding requests.
Vice‑Chair Barry Shullanberger moved to approve the March 4 work session and March 5 regular session minutes; Commissioner James Williams seconded and the board voted 3‑0 to approve the minutes.
Facilities Manager David Berman told the board that the Silver Lake and Fort Rock transfer sites will close April 1, 2025, and that the Christmas Valley transfer site hours will be Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Road Superintendent Kevin Hock said work on Millican Road in Christmas Valley will begin when weather permits.
Commissioner Williams reported a request from the Pyro Volunteers for fireworks funding but said he had already communicated the county would not provide funds; the board did not allocate fireworks funding during the session. Williams also noted the Lakeview Fire Department had not sought county fireworks funds for two years because of budget constraints.
The meeting recorded seven members of the public in attendance and adjourned at 10:58 a.m.
