ECMC updates multiple web forms for geothermal, geologic-storage and class‑6 wells

Summary
ECMC said changes to Forms 2, 5, 19, 21, 23 and 42 add dropdowns and optional fields to accommodate geothermal and geologic-storage wells, move well-log uploads to a dedicated tab, and add class‑6 instructions and a testing/logging schedule attachment on Form 42.
ECMC staff outlined several web-form changes intended to support geothermal and geologic-storage operations and to reduce mis-indexing of uploaded logs.
"If you do select geologic storage, you will see 2 new questions appear," said Marie Herner, geothermal and CCS specialist at ECMC. She described a new well-type dropdown on Form 2 (with additional questions when geologic storage is selected), optional field-name/number fields for geothermal/geologic-storage submissions on Forms 2 and 5, and new well-classification options on the drilling tab and Form 19 for deep geothermal and geologic-storage locations.
Herner said several attachment options moved to a new well-logs upload tab on Form 21 to avoid incorrect indexing; cement bond logs, noise logs, temperature surveys and tracer surveys should be uploaded to the new tab rather than the attachments tab. She also said Form 23 adds new well-control and fluid-type options (including injection and CO2 injection) applicable to geothermal and class‑6 operations.
On Form 42 Herner highlighted a new instructions box and a checklist option to indicate submission of a class‑6 logging and testing schedule; if selected, operators must provide the date and start time for the first scheduled test and attach a schedule that contains the remaining test dates. The schedule and the form must be submitted at least 30 days before the first scheduled test, and operators should submit a revised Form 42 if the schedule changes.
Herner said CCMC tested the updates with OIT and asked operators to report any bugs to Tu Yang. She closed by summarizing the updated forms (2, 5, 19, 21, 23 and 42) and offering direct help via email for questions.
