Chamber director invites public to Alger Theater unveiling March 7

Shelley Batty, director of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, used public comment time at the March 5 board meeting to invite the community to the Alger Theater grand unveiling at 6:00 p.m. on March 7, 2025. The unveiling will be followed by a screening of Singing in the Rain, which Batty said was among the first films shown at the Alger when it opened in the early 1950s.
Vice-Chair Barry Shullanberger commended the volunteers who worked on the restoration and singled out Ginger Casto for special recognition. The invitation was delivered during the meeting's public comment period; the hearing on Ordinance 52.120 was closed shortly afterward and the meeting adjourned.
