Commissioners approve small grant applications and authorize vehicle sales and fleet RFPs

At the Feb. 25 meeting the Indiana County Commissioners approved several smaller grants and took administrative procurement actions.
A CCAP PComp 2026 Wellness Improvement Grant application for $3,990 was approved to fund employee wellness prizes and AED updates, following a motion by Commissioner Keith and a second by Commissioner Hess. Chief Clerk Robin Maryai requested and the board also approved a 2026 Sallade Improvement Program grant application totaling $16,634.91 to repaint ceilings in the Register & Recorder Office ($15,500) and to purchase two active-shooter safety kits for the Sheriff’s Office ($1,134.91).
On asset disposition and procurement the board authorized sale of three surplus vehicles (one 2014 Ford Explorer and two 2016 Ford Explorers) located at the Jimmy Stewart Airport; sealed bids will be accepted until March 20, 2026 and the vehicles will be sold "AS IS." The board also authorized release of a Request for Proposals for Fleet Vehicle Maintenance Services for county employees, with proposals due April 1, 2026. All motions carried unanimously. County staff will administer the grants if awarded, accept and evaluate bids for the vehicles, and publish the RFP for fleet maintenance.
