Board approves Stile science curriculum pilot at Oak Grove Middle School

The Lamar County School District Board approved a pilot of the Stile science curriculum at Oak Grove Middle School.
District technology director Ross Randall provided a memo describing the pilot as a zero-dollar trial that will allow teachers in grades 6–8 to test Stile’s materials aligned to Mississippi standards. The memo says the pilot requires an agreement to connect student data to the platform and that "Stile was acquired by Curriculum Associates this summer." The district indicated Dr. Gray and Mr. Ezell had approved the pilot at the building level.
The motion to approve the pilot was made by Jennie Hensarling and seconded by Lance LeFan; the vote was 5-0. The board packet included an addendum to district contracting terms and a signatory listed for Curriculum Associates.
Why it matters: the pilot could change classroom instructional materials and assessment alignment at Oak Grove Middle; staff framed it as a data‑connectivity implementation and as part of normal curriculum evaluation ahead of a future adoption cycle.
