Lamar County School Board unanimously approves monthly finance reports and reconciliations

The Lamar County School District Board of Education voted unanimously to approve its monthly financial reports, including the statement of fund balances, revenue and expenditure reports, bank reconciliations and the District Maintenance Fund (1120) cash-flow statement.

On the motions recorded by the board, Jennie Hensarling moved and Lance LeFan seconded approval of the fund-balance statement, revenue report and expenditure report; each motion passed on recorded roll-call votes with Jordan Carlisle, Shae Farmer, Jennie Hensarling, Lance LeFan and Jared Slade voting yea.

A reconciliation summary in the packet certified that the reconciled balances were as of Nov. 30, 2025; the reconciliation page bears the signature block and certification of Chase Voss, chief financial officer. The packet includes detailed fund-level tables for general, grant, activity and capital funds and a bank-reconciliation summary showing the District Maintenance and 2025 Capital Improvements accounts among others.

The board also approved the accounts-payable claims docket for specific payment dates (Dec. 10, Dec. 17, 2025, and Jan. 7, 2026) by unanimous vote.

Why it matters: the approved reports show year‑to‑date receipts, expenditures and encumbrances across district and restricted funds, and the cash‑flow statement captures operating inflows and outflows for the district maintenance fund. Board approval authorizes staff to proceed with routine disbursement and reconciliation procedures and makes the reconciliations available in the business office for public review.

The board set the next regular meeting for Feb. 10, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the LCS Pioneer Place Office Building.
