Maywood swears in three new trustees and honors outgoing officials

The Village of Maywood Board of Trustees recognized outgoing officials and installed newly elected trustees at its regular meeting on May 21. Staff presented plaques honoring outgoing Trustee Ronald 'Ron' Rivers (unable to attend) and Trustee Henderson Yarbrough Jr.
A musical performance preceded the swearing-in ceremony. Trustees Isiah Brandon and Miguel Jones were sworn in by Appellate Judge Shelvin Louise Marie Hall; Trustee Nathaniel George Booker was sworn in by Cook County Clerk Karen A. Yarbrough. Trustees and staff offered congratulatory remarks; the minutes record expressions of appreciation from Mayor Edwenna Perkins and fellow trustees.
During trustee comments, outgoing Trustee H. Yarbrough reflected on accomplishments from his tenure. The meeting also included public comments from G. Clay, K. Sorenson and M. Rogers; Village Manager Willie Norfleet Jr. and Village Attorney Michael Jurusik responded to those comments as recorded in the minutes.
