Transportation and water projects: department reports more than $2 million ARPA support and active road/pathway work

Andy Qeton, representing the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, reported the department obtained an ARPA funding commitment intended to assist a local water‑line project and outlined ongoing sewer and water projects along with active road rehabs and a multi‑phase pathway project.
Qeton said the department "obtained a... $2,000,000 ARPA funding commitment from [the] Oklahoma Water Resources Board" to assist a water‑line project. He reported final inspections on the Whitmore Sewer and Stillwell flow equalization basin projects, construction starting on the Oaks water system treatment‑plant expansion and waterline work, and that pathway Phase 1 is on schedule for completion April 22. He also said several road rehab projects (Bryant Road, Summerfield Road and Red Barn Road) have been bid or are under construction and will be awarded or completed in coming months.
Councilors asked whether a separate state route project through Tahlequah could be widened to four lanes; Qeton clarified that the Tahlequah bypass work is under state jurisdiction (ODOT), not the tribal department. No votes or policy changes were taken on transportation items during the meeting.
