Council members also approved several donations of surplus warehouse items to local entities, including the Okay Fire Department and the town of Okay, and authorization to donate items to Northeastern Health Systems.
Councilwoman Hall moved the Cherokee Nation Council House and Capital Complex District Public Wellness and Beautification Act of 2026; after sponsorship additions, the committee recorded a roll call and the motion passed 16–0.
The committee confirmed multiple reappointments and appointments to boards and commissions, including:
- Edward H. Baidt III, reappointed to the Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission; - Linden Emberton, reappointed to the Sequoia High School Board of Education; - Susanna Plumb Scott and Amberlynn George, reappointed to the Cherokee Nation Foundation; and - Stuart Grayson, appointed to the Cherokee Nation Foundation.
Deputy Speaker Kevin Easley moved to implement the Cherokee Nation Council's external social-media acceptable-use policy; Josh Newton, director of communications, said the policy protects council members and staff from ethical violations, discrimination and harassment. Members approved the policy by voice vote.
The meeting closed after community announcements and scheduling the next Rules Committee for April 13, 2026 at 1 p.m.
