Council approves minutes, two alcohol licenses and Allied Arts appointment; moves into closed session

At its March meeting, the Milledgeville City Council approved the Feb. 25, 2025 meeting minutes, granted two alcohol licenses for on‑premises consumption and confirmed a nomination to the Allied Arts Board. The council also voted to enter a closed session to discuss a personnel matter.

The clerk read the first alcohol application for AM Katina LLC (d/b/a Katina Lettie) at 2485 North Columbia Street (beer, wine and liquor consumption on premises). After a motion and second, the clerk called the roll; all present councilmembers voted Aye and the application was approved.

The council then considered Vault 1884 (d/b/a The Vault) at 114 South Wayne Street. Following a motion and second, the clerk called the roll and the council voted Aye; the application was approved.

The mayor nominated Dr. Chandra Walker for appointment to the Allied Arts Board. The council moved and seconded the nomination, the clerk called the roll, and the nomination was confirmed by an Aye vote from all present members.

Earlier in the meeting the council moved to adopt the Feb. 25 meeting minutes; the clerk called the roll and the minutes were approved. Later the council, by motion and roll call, voted to enter a closed session to discuss a personnel matter. The council recessed into closed session and reconvened after about 15 minutes.

Recorded roll‑call names throughout the meeting included Miss Mapp, Mister Reynolds, Miss Schanholster, Doctor Lee and Missus Walden. The clerk announced individual Aye responses for each formal vote during the meeting.
