Board schedules April 30 public hearing to consider legalizing segment of Northwest Keizer Road

The Multnomah County Board voted to set a public hearing on April 30, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the County Boardroom to consider legalizing a portion of Northwest Keizer Road (County Road No. 107).
John Hendrickson, transportation division director and county engineer in the Department of Community Services, said the legalization process follows state statute (ORS referenced in the presentation) and is used when the traveled alignment of a road does not match county records. He told the board the county surveyor completed the survey and prepared a report showing where the road is traveled today versus the recorded description.
Hendrickson said the planned resolution is the second of three steps: it directs notice and a public hearing; if the hearing shows legalization is appropriate, a third resolution would adopt the legal alignment. He told commissioners the change would correct property descriptions but would not affect existing structures and would not impose a significant financial impact on property owners.
Commissioner John Stickson moved to set the hearing and Commissioner Moyer seconded; the board adopted the resolution by roll‑call vote.
