Extension director presents 2027 budget; court approves lower tax rate allocations

Hetzmansberger said the real property tax rate was set at 8 percent for the board's budget (down from 8.6 percent a year earlier), with a personal property rate of 9.86 and motor vehicle/watercraft rate at 1.3. He said the proposed appropriation total of $2,500,000 reflected both a reduction in rate and changes in assessed values and that personnel and travel lines were adjusted to align with expected expenses.
The judge thanked the board for considering lower rates and the fiscal court moved to approve or acknowledge the budget presentation so it would be on the record. Members commended statewide leadership cited during discussion and asked that copies of the budget be distributed before a follow‑up meeting.
The court approved the budget acknowledgement by voice vote; Hetzmansberger thanked the court for its support and offered to provide further details if requested.
