Council moves to contact solicitor on Hidden Springs adoption; park grant noted and fast-pitch group requests site work

The Connoquenessing Borough Council on March 3 approved starting the process to contact the solicitor about Hidden Springs adoption, contingent on the engineer confirming the punch list is complete. Council member Lloyd Leslie moved the action and Kelly Barton seconded; the motion passed. The secretary was asked to verify the engineer’s approval before the solicitor is contacted.
Council members also heard that the Butler County Park Renovation Development Grant application had been submitted before the deadline; council did not act beyond noting the submission. The Butler County fast-pitch board told the borough it had approved use of an area designated by Council member Leslie and requested site work including removal of an old shed, painting of dugouts and the concession building, and placement of a job box behind home plate. The fast-pitch group did not specify whether it will bore under the trail.
The DCNR grant item was identified for discussion on the April agenda. No ordinances or formal adoptions were completed at this meeting on the park or grant items; next steps include verification by the secretary and further discussion at the April meeting.
