Council approves appropriation to host historic-preservation training camp

Loveland — Council unanimously approved a supplemental budget appropriation to host a historic‑preservation commissioners’ training camp at the Saving Places Colorado conference in February.
Senior planner Marianne Duran told council the grant request totaled $13,651 and covers the camp base fee ($11,000 for up to 30 attendees) plus optional fees to expand capacity, printing, flash drives and five additional registrations for Loveland’s Historic Preservation Commission. Duran described the benefits of Certified Local Government status and said the camp will provide training and technical assistance to local commissioners.
Councilmembers commended staff for pursuing the grant and for the preservation commission’s work. The ordinance passed on first reading by a 9–0 vote.
Staff said additional documentation related to the camp fees would be posted in the electronic packet and that the city will host commissioners from around Colorado as part of the conference.
