Raza said several action items will be forwarded to full council, including approval of the Fairmount Fire Company’s 35th annual under‑the‑lights car show (scheduled for June 20, 2026), a motion to add a handicapped parking space at 889 Wyche Drive, and a measure to remove obsolete addresses from borough code. The fire department reported 51 calls in February and 115 year‑to‑date calls; staff also reported 658 total calls in 2025 and eight new volunteer members.
The committee noted public interest in a welcoming policy; staff and legal counsel are discussing options and characterized the current work as an internal police department statement rather than an ordinance.
