Haruba staff tout print shop’s expanded services and new revenue stream

Staff at Haruba described an expanded school print shop, its range of capabilities and early revenue from inter-district work.

A staff member said, "Here at Haruba, we're fortunate enough to have a really expansive print shop," noting investments made in the facility. A presenter added, "We're providing a shop tour just to kind of let school sites and departments know everything that we have to offer at the print shop and see everything that we can do for them." Those tours are intended to show school staff how the shop can meet needs they may not have known the shop could satisfy.

The presenter outlined production capabilities: "Anything that's flat, if it's a door, if it's a window, if it's a whiteboard, we we can print on all of that." He said expanded offerings can "bring community together and help students and the community kind of bond with that site."

Both speakers said the shop currently has extra capacity and is already contracted to print for another school district. "This is our second year printing for another school district," the presenter said, adding that the work "allows us to provide direct income to the district for the first time" and increases assets in the shop, improving the return on investment.

In closing, a staff member urged continued use of the shop by school sites: "Well, I just hope that people just, like, keep using the print shop ... it's very, useful because the kids have, like, a hands on thing for, like, their homework or creating things. Once you see the finished product, it's, like, a satisfaction to see how nice it came out." The session recorded no formal motions or votes; staff described outreach and operational benefits as next steps.
