New Dunlap CUSD 323 board members sworn in; Tom Feldman elected president

Dunlap Community Unit School District #323 held a special Board of Education meeting on May 7, 2025. Superintendent Dr. Scott Dearman called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM and announced the certified results of the April 7 election, naming Tom Feldman, Nicolas Yemm, Youssef Boudjarane and Mick Hall as newly elected or re-elected board members.
All newly elected and continuing members recited the Oath of Office together. Dr. Scott Dearman then moved to adjourn the outgoing board sine die; the motion, made by Tom Feldman and seconded by Andrew Tyra, passed by voice vote, after which the newly elected members took their seats at about 6:05 PM.
Dr. Dearman recommended temporary officers to serve until formal ballots: he recommended himself as President Pro Tem and Miranda Bowald as Secretary Pro Tem. The board approved those temporary appointments by voice vote on a motion by Tom Feldman, seconded by Youssef Boudjarane.
During formal officer elections, Mick Hall nominated Tom Feldman for a two-year term as board president; the nomination carried by majority vote and Feldman assumed the chair and presided over the remainder of the meeting. Tom Feldman then nominated Andrew Tyra for vice president for a two-year term; that nomination also carried by majority vote. Andrew Tyra nominated Mick Hall for secretary for a two-year term; that nomination carried by majority vote.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Tim Wagenbach, seconded by Mick Hall; the voice vote was unanimous and the meeting adjourned at 6:15 PM.
No public comments were received during the meeting. The board did not take roll-call vote counts beyond majority/voice vote notations recorded in the minutes.
