Christian County fiscal court approves routine fund expenditures, personnel actions and opens solid-waste RFP

Christian County Fiscal Court on its scheduled meeting approved routine fund expenditures, accepted fiscal reports and authorized several personnel actions while announcing a forthcoming procurement for county trash collection.
The court approved expenditures from the general fund, road and bridge fund, jail fund (including authorized overtime), LGEA, E-911, health-quality and the Clark Storage Feed Fund, and approved use of American Rescue Plan funds as presented. Motions were made and seconded and roll-call or voice votes were recorded for each fund motion.
Treasurer reports presented and accepted included budget transfers effective March 10 and March 24 (approved subject to audit), a year-to-date cash and investment report through March 31, 2026, and a revenue-and-expense statement covering July 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026.
Personnel items approved included hiring Billy McGee as a truck driver effective April 1, removal of Jeremy Reed from a 90-day probation period effective April 16, and hiring deputies Beatrice Marino and Paulette Simon Hall (each with a 90-day probation beginning April 16). The court also approved an incentive for Squire Duffy in recognition of required training hours.
The sheriff requested and the court approved declaring a 2013 Chevy Tahoe as surplus. The court’s Chair told the assembly that county staff and community development will manage a request for proposals for solid-waste collection; the existing contract ends in July and officials aim to sign a new contract by June with any changes taking effect July 1.
What happens next: county staff will administer the RFP process and evaluate proposals; treasurer and departmental staff will continue to report budget and cash metrics to the court.
