Clinton County Legislature approves multiple resolutions, withdraws voting-machine purchase and tables one contract resolution

The Clinton County Legislature on April 8 read and acted on a long slate of committee-recommended resolutions covering contract authorizations, grant acceptances, appropriations and memoranda of understanding.
Committee chairs and the county clerk read resolutions across health, public safety, transportation and administration. Notable outcomes recorded in the meeting included: the legislature designated April as "Donate Life" month (Resolution 232), authorized acceptance of a cybersecurity grant for information technology (Resolution 233), accepted a hazard-mitigation grant and authorized the purchasing agent to solicit proposals for a Twin County Hazard Mitigation Plan update (Resolution 234 and related action), and authorized permitting-related actions for a landfill consistency analysis (Resolution 237). The record shows many other contract and grant resolutions (Resolutions 236–266) were moved, seconded and carried by vote.
The committee that reviewed a proposed purchase of nine new Dominion voting machines (described in the transcript as "Image Task Evolution" machines) withdrew that item from consideration at committee; the purchase did not advance at the full legislature session. Separately, Resolution 238 (authorizing outside contracting/legal services as drafted) was moved and then tabled by the legislature before adjournment.
The body also authorized a memorandum of understanding between the Clinton County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration to permit participation in a drug enforcement task force (Resolution 249) and approved appropriation adjustments and grant acceptances for county programs including a regional child-fatality review team grant, traffic-safety grants and public-defender office contracts.
Per the meeting record, Legislator Purry moved, and Legislator Randall seconded, a motion to enter executive session; the legislature voted to go into executive session and then adjourned after tabling Resolution 238.
