The Harlan City Council on Nov. 18 unanimously approved its consent agenda and adopted Resolution 26-21 to accept the city’s fiscal year 2024–25 annual financial report.
At the start of the meeting the presiding officer called the roll and the council voted to adopt the meeting agenda. The consent package included minutes from the Nov. 4 council meeting, a claims list totaling $61,704.10 and the sheriff’s statistical report for October. Kroger moved to approve the consent agenda and Nipper seconded; the clerk recorded a unanimous roll-call vote.
During consideration of Resolution 26-21, the city clerk said the document is the city’s annual report of actuals and will be transmitted to the Iowa Department of Management after council approval. “It’s required for every city to do every year,” the clerk said, describing the report as a summary of the city’s revenues and expenses.
Councilors asked procedural questions about the report’s content and filing; staff confirmed the report reflects last year’s revenues and expenditures and will be filed as required. Lindbergh moved to adopt Resolution 26-21; Kroger seconded and the resolution passed by unanimous roll call.
The meeting record shows no public opposition during the votes. The council moved on to other business after the votes.
