The Calexico Unified School District board voted unanimously to award a multi‑year security patrol services contract to Patrol Protective Services, a local company, and to review the contract before any extension beyond December 2025.
District staff told trustees there were five proposals for the patrol contract and that Patrol Protective Services was the only respondent with an existing Imperial Valley office. “This is the only local company,” a staff presenter said when discussing the interview responses from proposers.
A trustee moved to approve the local vendor “up until December 2025 and bring them back before December, for a possible renewal,” citing the desire to try the vendor on an annual review schedule. The motion was seconded, trustees voiced support for reviewing the arrangement annually, and the board approved the motion 5–0.
What happens next: staff will execute the award to Patrol Protective Services and return to the board before December 2025 to seek direction on renewal or replacement.
