Marc Jordan, President/CEO of the Montcross Area Chamber, briefed the Cramerton Board on the "Montcross Emerge" economic-growth initiative, a three-year marketing and outreach program aimed at supporting small businesses across participating municipalities.
Jordan said businesses would not be required to join the chamber to participate; the program would include a dedicated link from the Montcross webpage and the Chamber would inform participating municipalities which businesses express interest. Attorney Karen Wolter advised the Board that the initiative is considered economic development and that a public hearing will be required before Cramerton can formally partner.
The Board thanked Jordan for the presentation; no formal action was requested at the meeting and no vote was recorded. Staff said they would follow the required public-notice process if the Board decides to pursue partnership.
