At its April meeting the Oxford City Board of Commissioners approved several routine and policy items, including acceptance of state funding for a lead service line inventory and other administrative actions.
Lead service line inventory funding: Staff said the city was awarded $1,000,000 through the state's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program; the award was described as 100 percent forgivable and intended to support the inventory and compliance work. Staff recommended approving a resolution accepting the funding and a capital project budget ordinance. Commissioner Bridges moved the measures and Commissioner Velez seconded; the board voted in favor.
Wastewater feasibility grant support: The board approved a resolution supporting an application for a regional wastewater merger/feasibility grant. Staff recommended approval and Commissioner McGee moved with Commissioner Brooks seconding; the motion carried.
Land use and appointments: The board approved a planning‑board‑recommended four‑lot subdivision on Montague Center Road (annexed in 2024 with light industrial zoning) after staff noted comments from NCDOT. The board also filled a vacancy on the planning board via ballot; after ballots were read aloud the selected candidate (reported as Aaron/Harry Mills in the record) was approved by motion.
Consent and minutes: The board approved the consent agenda and March meeting minutes. The meeting concluded after routine remarks and a motion to adjourn.
