Dixmoor accepts $400,000 CDBG award to reconstruct 145th Street

Trustee and village leaders announced that the county awarded the Village of Dixmoor $400,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to pay for reconstruction work on 145th Street.

John Thompson, the village's CDBG representative, told trustees that “we did receive the approval for $400,000 for CDBG for this particular year. The county has sent us notification that we've been awarded that 400,000 and it's to redo 100 And 45th Street from Western Avenue to Robe.” The board discussed the scope as including street reconstruction and sidewalks, and thanked staff for securing the award.

The funding was described on the record as a county-administered CDBG award tied to a contract to rebuild 145th Street between Western Avenue and Robey. Trustees moved and recorded their support for the CDBG-related contract/action during the meeting's roll-call votes. The village attorney and staff said they will provide a finalized package that can be used for future grant applications and project implementation.
