County approves several grants and program supports, including Brodhead ball-field grant application and $100,000 broadband grant application

Squire Adams moved and Squire McGuire seconded approval to pursue a $58,824 grant for modifications at the Brodhead Ball Fields; the motion carried unanimously. The minutes record that this award is cost-share and contingent on obtaining an anticipated $60,000 grant from the National Park Service Land & Water Conservation Program.
The court also approved proceeding with the Livingston Fiber Project (PRTC) and authorized applying for a $100,000 Last Mile Broadband Assistance Program grant to support last-mile broadband expansion. Those motions passed with all voting aye.
Separately, the court authorized $25,000 in RCIDA program support for the second quarter of FY25, renewed Livingston Trail Town program support for three months, approved Rockcastle County Development Board support of $1,140, and authorized pursuing a household hazardous waste (HHW) grant for up to $12,000 for 2025. Quail Community Park maintenance and a leaking water heater replacement were noted as updates.
