The court’s motion, made by Squire Denny and seconded by Squire Prewitt, was approved unanimously.
Judge Howell Holbrook reported that the county has submitted claims for required tree‑cutting and described road damage that includes eight slides and four culverts needing repair. He said FEMA has proposed using soil‑nail techniques for some slope repairs, a higher‑cost option that could increase project expenses.
The court did not vote on specific repair contracts at the special meeting; members authorized the FEMA contract so the county can pursue public assistance and continue the damage‑assessment and procurement process.
