Lincoln County court approves rezoning for two Kentucky Highway 198 parcels

The Lincoln County Fiscal Court on Jan. 13 approved two second-reading zoning amendments affecting properties on Kentucky Highway 198.
Judge Adams presided as the court accepted a Planning and Zoning recommendation to reclassify 2765 Kentucky Highway 198—the 0.5-acre lot where the old McKinney Baptist Church sits—from Commercial (C/PO) to single-family residential. Magistrate Joe Stanley moved approval of the second reading; Magistrate Faulkner seconded. The motion carried with all members voting in favor.
The court also approved a rezoning for five adjoining lots at 2801 Kentucky Highway 198, totaling 1.08 acres. Planning and Zoning recommended changing the parcel from Agricultural (A-1) to Commercial/Professional Office (C/OP) to accommodate a barber shop. Magistrate Stanley moved the second-reading approval and Magistrate Faulkner seconded; the court voted unanimously to pass the amendment.
Both motions were presented on Planning and Zoning’s recommendation; no public opposition or appeals were recorded during the meeting. With the second readings approved, the properties may proceed under their new zoning classifications according to county procedures and any applicable state or local review periods.
The court’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 27, 2026.
