The Summerville Pre-Protection Board deferred judgment on a tree at 105 Egret Lane for 30 days to allow the specimen time to leaf out and for staff to re-inspect during a site visit.
Justin, the town arborist, told the board the tree was dormant at the time of inspection and noted three other nearby trees of the same species also appeared behind in leafing. Board members said soil conditions or drought could explain the lag and agreed a 30-day deferral would allow better assessment.
A committee member moved to defer review until the next site visit; the motion carried by voice vote. The board will reexamine the tree at its next visit and decide whether any further action or documentation is required.
