Klamath County approves supplemental budgets, purchases and cleanup payments

At its April 14 meeting the Klamath County Board of Commissioners approved multiple fiscal and procurement items, including supplemental budget adjustments, vehicle purchases and additional cleanup payments.
Finance staff described a supplemental budget resolution for the Community Corrections Department that restructures the department’s budget to reflect changes in a state contract and adds JRP funding through December 2026; staff stated a fiscal impact of a $450,124 increase in revenue and expenditures. The board moved to approve the supplemental budget and voted unanimously.
A second supplemental budget for the district attorney’s specialty courts was presented to fund one full-time probation officer in Community Corrections. Staff said specialty courts revenue would increase by $22,617 and transfers to Community Corrections would rise by $130,000; the board approved the resolution.
The board also approved an internal-services (GIS) budget adjustment that decreases personnel services by $10,000 and increases contract services because an employee left and an interim from another department is filling the workload.
On procurement, the board authorized the purchase of two 2026 Toyota 4Runners from Gresham Toyota for the Building Division at $45,438 each, totaling $90,876, to be paid from the building vehicle reserve and operating funds. Community Development staff (Stephanie Brown) explained vendor solicitation and bid receipt.
Code enforcement items included approvals to pay additional cleanup costs: $7,310.20 to Junket LLC for properties on Altamont Drive after crews discovered buried debris and additional tires, and $5,434.53 to American Made Enterprises LLC for a Sprague River property where extra trailer loads and fuel cost increases were incurred. Both payments were charged to the Code Enforcement Violation Reserve Fund and approved by the board.
Each item was moved, seconded and adopted by unanimous vote as recorded in the meeting.
