Columbia County commissioners approve consent agenda, labor agreement and price quote

At the Feb. 11 Columbia County board meeting, commissioners approved the consent agenda and several contract items presented by staff.
The consent agenda included routine approvals: claims/payroll processing for Feb. 4, 2026; a city allocation request from Baytown; two Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission permit applications (Star Mart in Skapoos and Island Cove Market in Portland); and the appointment of Greg Rous to the Solid Waste Advisory Committee (seat 8) with a charter term expiring Dec. 31, 2029. A commissioner moved to open the consent agenda as presented and the board voted in favor.
Separately, staff presented contracts including C8-2026, a collective-bargaining agreement with the Columbia County Deputy Sheriffs Association, and C9-2026, a price quotation from Lakeside Industries Inc. for asphalt supply for calendar year 2026. A motion to approve those contracts was made and seconded; the board recorded ‘‘Aye’’ on the motion in the meeting.
The meeting concluded with commissioner reports from the Association of Oregon Counties visit to Salem and the chair adjourning the session.
