At its April 1 meeting the Columbia County Board of Commissioners approved a consent agenda that included routine financial and administrative items, event permits and several OLCC special-event license applications.
Items approved on the consent calendar included payroll for March 25, 2026; a personnel action for Riley Baker effective April 1, 2026; approval of the Columbia Century Challenge road event permit scheduled for June 13, 2026; and multiple OLCC special-event license applications for the Wigwam Tavern’s River City Speedway events on dates in April and May 2026. The board also approved contracts and intergovernmental agreements listed on the agenda, including an agreement with the Oregon Department of Corrections and a county opportunity grant program agreement with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.
A commissioner moved approval of the consent items, the motion was seconded, and the board voted to approve the items. Commissioners discussed clarifications on the CDBG work plan and the Environmental Review Record; staff agreed to follow up with additional documentation at a subsequent meeting.
Commissioner Garrett encouraged community members to attend and comment at upcoming U.S. Army Corps public hearings on a local project, noting hearings scheduled this week. The meeting concluded with holiday greetings and adjournment.
