At its March 9, 2026 regular meeting the Village of Richland Council approved routine housekeeping items including the March agenda, the February 9 regular and budget meeting minutes, and payment of the cash disbursement journal for Feb. 9, 2026.
Trustee Jason Mechenbier moved and Trustee Kim Lewis seconded approval of the agenda. Trustees approved both sets of minutes on separate motions (votes recorded as "Motion Carried" in the minutes). Trustee Jason Mechenbier moved and Trustee Kim Lewis seconded to authorize payment of bills; that motion also carried.
In old business Trustee Kim Lewis reported the council is still awaiting estimates for a new municipal sign and will follow up with the sign business in person. The council also noted that the village attorney is conducting a comprehensive ordinance review; no appointment was made but the zoning/ordinance committee has an open seat to be filled at the April meeting.
Committee reports were brief. Clerk Mollie Fish was noted as handling email correspondence to Trustee Mechenbier on buildings & tree matters. Public service reported leaf pickup is in progress. The publications committee solicited ideas for a spring newsletter and set a stick pickup for April 20, 2026 and a large-item pickup for May 9, 2026. The minutes also record a KABA meeting held March 17, 2026.
President Pro-Tempore Gail Koporetz reminded residents that a Solar Panel Farm public meeting is scheduled for March 25, 2026 at 7 p.m. at Gull Lake Middle School; the council agreed to post that reminder on the village website. The meeting adjourned at 7:33 p.m.
