Monterey County on April 15 announced that a solar-plus-battery installation serving the Monterey County Jail and Sheriff’s Public Safety Building is complete and operational, a county spokesperson said at a virtual news briefing.
The project was described by Rob Hines of Mint Systems, which partnered with the county and a third-party financier to design, own and maintain the systems under a 25-year power purchase agreement. "We’ve got these beautiful projects that are gonna save, I believe, it's close to $13,000,000 over the next 25 years for the county," Hines said.
