Summary
The board appointed Nicole Tesoulas to the Citizen Transportation Advisory Committee and Lorraine Churchill to the Parks Advisory Committee, and reappointed Deborah Hazen and Kate Eflin to the Columbia County Museum Commission; each appointment was made by motion and approved by voice vote.
Columbia County commissioners took several personnel actions March 11, approving two citizen appointments to advisory committees and reappointing two Museum Commission members.
The board appointed Nicole Tesoulas to seat #3 of the Citizen Transportation Advisory Committee for a term expiring June 30, 2028. Tesoulas told commissioners she has prior experience running a trucking company for 25 years and previously drove school buses; she said her current work schedule (four 10-hour days) would allow her to attend meetings. A commissioner moved to appoint Tesoulas and authorize the vice chair to sign the paperwork; the board recorded aye votes and welcomed her.
The board also appointed Lorraine Churchill to seat #3 of the Parks Advisory Committee with a term ending Dec. 31, 2028. Churchill, joining virtually, emphasized her longtime local residency, love of the county's natural areas, and volunteer work with search and rescue. Commissioners moved and seconded the appointment and voted aye.
In administrative matters the board reappointed Deborah Hazen and Kate Eflin to the Columbia County Museum Commission (terms to expire Dec. 31, 2027). The motions were made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
What's next: Appointees will be notified and added to committee rosters; staff will finalize appointment paperwork and file the signed authorization forms.
