The Village of Mahomet Board of Trustees unanimously approved Resolution 26-01-01 at its Jan. 27 meeting to accept public improvements for the Thornewood LSRD Subdivision phase. Trustee Schriver moved to approve the resolution; Trustee Colravy seconded and the motion passed on a 5–0 roll-call vote called by Clerk Dawn Mohr.
Village Planner Abby Heckman explained the step-by-step inspection process, the punch-list workflow and who participates in final acceptance for a subdivision. Heckman said the procedures are completed before final approvals and that the Village enforces warranty and punch-list items as part of the acceptance process. Trustee Schriver said the ordinance governing acceptance "needs to be tweaked" to address issues he sees in practice. Trustee Oliger said he wanted to ensure the Village retains leverage if problems arise before a warranty expires; Heckman said, "the Village does have leverage."
The board took no amendments to the resolution during the discussion. With the motions made and seconded, Clerk Mohr called the roll; all five trustees present voted yes and the resolution was adopted.
The approval completes the formal municipal acceptance of the public improvements for the named subdivision phase; the transcript does not specify additional implementation steps or deadlines following acceptance.
