Road & Bridge discusses truck replacement, gravel sourcing and rock crushing; NWLEPG presents FY2025 report
Summary

Wayne Lanning, representing Rawlins County Road and Bridge, updated the commissioners on equipment and materials: he said “the green truck will be done by the end of the week,” discussed gravel sourcing and advised that the county should use its own pits rather than hauling washed gravel, which he said the county does not need. Lanning and commissioners discussed options to crush rock and asked him to research a new rock crusher and to gather information about Cahoj Earthmoving as a potential contractor.
Earlier in the meeting, Brice Cronn of the Northwest Local Environmental Protection Group presented a letter and the FY2025 LEPP Final Report to the board. Cronn outlined services NWLEP offers to counties and noted grants that may be available to support wastewater-system work in Rawlins County.
The board did not take a procurement action on a truck in this session but discussed budgeting for replacement and directed staff to follow up on crusher options and gravel sourcing.
