Board awards $1.556 million contract for Campo Road South sidewalks

The Board of Selectmen voted to award a state-funded LOTCIP contract for Campo Road South sidewalk work to the lowest responsible bidder.
Keith Wilberg, town engineer, said the multi-stage project began in 2019 and finally reached a point where the town could award construction. He told the board the recommended award is for $1,556,000 to GPIC (the lowest responsible bidder) and noted the town received seven bids. “We’ve already been talking with them about preconstruction issues and scheduling… they’d like to get going as soon as possible,” Wilberg said. He estimated a typical contract time limit of roughly 180 days and said crews would coordinate with neighbors on stone walls, hedges and other site considerations.
The board asked about timing; Wilberg said the contractor and town hope to begin within a month or so once contracts and logistics are finalized. The board moved and approved the contract award and instructed staff to coordinate neighbor outreach and preconstruction notices.
