Oscoda County authorizes purchase of two ambulances totaling $330,900

The Oscoda County Board of Commissioners voted March 24 to authorize EMS Director Robert Stankiewicz to accept two proposals from MacQueen Equipment, LLC for two gas-powered ambulances (CRESTLINE #21325 CCL150 Type III and #21327 CCL150 CCL150 Type III) at a combined price of $330,900.00.
The board rescinded a prior motion (2026-034) and approved the new authorization (Handrich/McCauley). The purchase is to be financed with Huntington Bank and paid from the Amb New Equip Capital Over $5,000 budget line (102-651-977.00). A roll-call vote was recorded as Breaugh, yes; Handrich, yes; McCauley, yes; Varner, yes; the motion carried 4-0.
EMS Director Robert Stankiewicz presented the proposals and specifications for the two Type III units. The board did not amend the motion and approved financing and budget amendments necessary to complete the purchase.
The authorization will allow the county to proceed with vendor contracting and financing steps required to place the ambulances in service.
