The board approved, by voice vote, a first‑consideration ordinance to add two liquor licenses in Glenview.
Black Pearl Japanese Restaurant seeks a Class A liquor license for on‑premises consumption at a downtown location on North Milwaukee Avenue; the applicant’s representative said interior renovations are nearly complete and construction is expected to finish in late May or June. Hammer & Nails Glenview, a national grooming franchise with bar/lounge seating that offers hair, beard and hand/foot services, asked for a Class F5 license to permit limited alcohol service incidental to personal grooming; franchise representatives said they expect an opening in July and have agreed to menu and service adjustments requested by the liquor committee (prepackaged sandwiches provision noted).
Trustees had no substantive objections; the board approved the items on first consideration and welcomed the new establishments.
