Trustees debated whether the $125,000 should fund one mural or be split among multiple projects, and asked staff to ensure any installation fits the village's broader downtown branding and future mural program. Trustee Cooper suggested allocating some funds for maintenance; Director Brady said staff would consider maintenance and programmatic standards when returning with a downtown mural program for board approval. Staff also said an installation agreement and an easement with the property owner would be required before a mural is placed on private property.
The board voted unanimously to accept the grant agreement and directed staff to develop a downtown mural program, including evaluation criteria, potential locations and funding guidance, which would be presented at a future meeting.
