Commissioners authorize $1 million tax anticipation note, approve grants and adopt fair housing resolution

At its meeting, the Cameron County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 2026‑2 authorizing issuance of a $1,000,000 tax anticipation note with Northwest Bank, with an interest rate discussed at about 4 percent. The board described the action as the final step after bids for the borrowing instrument were reviewed and approved.
The commissioners also approved a grant agreement between Cameron, Elk and McKean counties and the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs and approved a 9‑1‑1 state interconnectivity grant agreement covering 2026‑01‑01 through 2026‑12‑31. Committee member moved and a second was recorded; all motions passed by voice vote.
In a separate action the board adopted Fair Housing Resolution No. 2026‑1 as presented by Cliff Clark, the economic and development director. The fair housing resolution was described as the same standard protocol used in previous years.
Chair noted the treasurer’s report for December will be presented at the board’s January 22 meeting. The board also opened bids for a security-entrance project but tabled the award pending review by the project manager, engineers and the safety committee.
