Shiawassee County board approves bills, contracts and committee minutes; tables Lennon Road Brownfield plan

At its June 18 meeting the board authorized payments totaling $4,814,552.08, approved multiple committee minutes, renewed a contract with Advanced Correctional Health, okayed a Perrin Construction proposal, approved a PA 116 farmland agreement, and tabled a Brownfield Plan for the Lennon Road Redevelopment. All recorded votes were unanimous (6-0).
The Shiawassee County Board of Commissioners approved a set of consent and business items at its June 18 meeting, including payments, committee minutes, contract renewals and property-agreement action.
A motion by Commissioner Garber, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, approved Invoice Edit Reports, payroll batches and electronic transfers totaling $4,814,552.08 and authorized warrants drawn from the Treasury. The roll-call tally recorded six yeas: Commissioners Holzhausen, Johnson, Garber, Howard, Shepard and Chairman Gregory Brodeur.
The board approved minutes from multiple committee meetings (Economic and Physical Development; Finance and Administration; Public Safety and Courts; Health and Human Services) and adopted the 2024 Health Department Annual Report.
Contract actions included approval of a renewal with Advanced Correctional Health, Inc. not to exceed $289,182.05, and approval of a Perrin Construction proposal to build a quarantine room with ventilation and a metal ceiling in an amount not to exceed $25,854. Both motions carried on recorded roll-call votes.
The board also approved a PA 116 Farmland Agreement application for Robert and Maria Carlin covering parcels 010-23-400-001 and 010-23-400-002.
Separately, following a public hearing on the Lennon Road Redevelopment Brownfield Plan, the board voted to table Resolution 25-06-08 under Act 381. Local towing businesses (Joe Audia of Joe'9s Body Shop in Perry and Dean Gaffner of Gaffner Towing) addressed towing-related procurement (a request for proposals) during the public-comment portion of the meeting.
All motions and votes recorded in the meeting minutes carried without dissent where roll-call results were reported.
