Ken Talsma of Anderson, Tackman & Company, PLC presented the Shiawassee County 2024 audit to the Board of Commissioners on June 18.
Following the presentation, Commissioner Garber moved to adopt the 2024 audit and place it on file; Commissioner Howard seconded and the motion carried on a 6-0 roll-call vote.
Earlier in the meeting the board heard a presentation on Health Department accreditation from Larry Johnson, Health Department Director, and Laura L.J. De La Rambelje of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The presenters reviewed the accreditation status and steps taken toward compliance with MDHHS expectations.
Chairman Gregory Brodeur and County Administrator Dr. Brian Boggs thanked staff for the successful audit; Dr. Boggs noted the audit marked the fifth consecutive successful audit, and he reported that grant applications and earmarked grant money are advancing planned projects.
The audit adoption was recorded without dissent and was placed on file. The Health Department presentation was informational; no formal action on accreditation was recorded at the meeting.
