On Feb. 24 the City of Northfield council introduced three ordinances related to land use and redevelopment and referred them to the combined Planning/Zoning Board for review.
Ordinance 5‑2026 would amend Chapter 215 (Land Use and Development) of the City Code; it was referred to the combined Planning/Zoning Board for review at its March meeting and is scheduled for second reading and final consideration on March 10, 2026. Ordinance 6‑2026 would adopt the Wabash Avenue Redevelopment Plan covering Block 92 (Lots 25, 28, 29, 31, 33 and 34). Ordinance 7‑2026 would adopt the Dolphin Avenue Redevelopment Plan covering Block 66 Lot 11 and Block 69 Lot 1.02.
Engineer Nassar noted that minor changes to Habitat plans had been provided to Planner Morrisey earlier in the meeting. Each introduced ordinance was read by title and posted per local notice requirements; council voted to introduce and refer the measures for board review.
