The Egg Harbor Township Board of Education approved a set of routine and substantive agenda items on Feb. 2, including several finance packages, curriculum approvals, policy readings, personnel approvals and the acceptance of a staff resignation.
Finance and procurement: The board approved finance item 8.2 and a block of finance items 8.3'08.16 after a motion and second and roll‑call votes recorded by the clerk. Committee chair Mister Price had recommended moving forward with monthly reports, tuition and home‑instruction contracts, professional‑service agreements, grant applications and RFP authorizations discussed at the Feb. 11 finance committee meeting.
Curriculum and policy: Curriculum items 9.2'09.3 were approved after committee reporting and clarifying information about a proposed high‑school "0 period" pilot and a middle‑school Chromebook plan. The board also approved policy items 10.2'10.9 (policy readings and bylaw revisions including consolidation of school‑nutrition policies) as presented by the policy committee; several policies were recommended for abolition with replacement language and are pending the formal reading process described in committee.
Personnel and hires: Personnel items 11.2'11.9 were approved. During the meeting Superintendent Dr. Guccio introduced several newly approved staff members who were in attendance: Sierra Nunez (paraprofessional), Tracy Grant (teacher), Tammy Charulli (teacher), Shaquina Mays (preschool teacher) and a newly appointed assistant principal at the high school. The board accepted the resignation of Frederick Wilson, effective June 30, 2025.
Votes and procedure: Most agenda approvals were completed by roll call with the clerk recording members present and their votes; the meeting record shows affirmative roll‑call results on the named blocks of finance, curriculum, policy and personnel items. Public comment on agenda items produced no speakers. The board adjourned at the close of business.
Why it matters: These approvals move forward the district's budget process, staffing placements and policy updates that shape operations and student services in the coming year. Parents and staff can expect additional details at committee meetings and the March 18 preliminary budget presentation.
Next step: The preliminary budget will be presented March 18; the board will continue committee work and hold a public hearing on the final budget in April.
