The Galt City Council took three formal actions during its March 17 meeting.
1) Consent calendar approved (items 1–7): Councilmember Paul Sandhu moved approval of the consent calendar, Vice Mayor Tim Reid seconded, and the council approved the motion by roll call, 5–0. The items included routine warrants, minutes, the treasurer’s report, cancellation of the April 21 meeting, and allocation of city public-benefit funds (item J-5).
2) Appointment to Commission on Aging: Councilmember Sandhu appointed Nicole Hemmenover to fill a Commission on Aging vacancy through December 2026; Hemmenover introduced herself as a nurse with 20 years of senior-health experience and said she looked forward to serving.
3) Personnel resolution adopting side letters and salary schedule updates: Human Resources presented a resolution to adopt two side letter agreements with IUOE Local 39 (a bargaining-unit modification and a salary range for a 'wastewater operator in training'), updated salary schedules to comply with the California code of regulations, and personnel manual amendments. Vice Mayor Reid moved the resolution, Councilmember Farmer seconded, and the motion passed 5–0. Staff said the changes do not increase overall compensation costs in this fiscal year.
Vote tallies on recorded roll calls for both the consent calendar and the personnel resolution were unanimous in favor (5–0).
