City schedules hearing on secondary-water engineering standards; staff outlines pipe sizes, well tie-ins

The Enoch City Planning Commission voted March 24, 2026, to set a public hearing for April 14 to consider adding Section 3.7.0 to the Engineering Design Standards to establish secondary-water design standards.
Public Works Director Hayden White summarized the draft standards, saying, "For water mains, an 8-inch line will serve the subdivision, with 6-inch mains within the subdivision, consistent with drinking-water service." White emphasized the standards do not create personal liability for staff or developers. Council Member Trower asked whether the plan anticipates using reclaimed or nonpotable water and whether installing two potable lines now could be wasteful if they become obsolete; White replied that several wells are being tied into the system.
Commissioner David Hoopes moved to set the hearing; Commissioner Delaine Finlay seconded and the motion passed. Staff will provide the draft standards and technical details at the April 14 hearing for public and technical review.
